Great for GW Law
I lived here during my 1L at GW Law and love the location. 10 minutes walking from the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall, 10 minutes walking to the Law School (once it opens back up again), and 10 minutes walking to the nearest Whole Foods. Not a ton of restaurants around, but the ones that are close are quality.

Great Location
I've loved living at Columbia Plaza. The proximity to the law school is great (8-10min walk), and the maintenance is very responsive to all issues. The only major issue I've had is I've seen several small cockroaches in my apartment, but they have an exterminator that sprayed around my apartment, and I haven't had an issue with them since. Utilities included is very nice (internet isn't included), and if you plan to live in one place for all three years of law school the rent usually only goes up $20-$30 per month each year based on what my lease says about previous years.

First Year Law Student
This apartment is in a great location for the law school, super close! However, that was unnecessary this year. It is nice to have a mail room where all your packages go, where the building texts you when you have a package. There is apparently a gym, it's closed because of COVID so I have never tried to find it. I also know we have a lot more space than most apartments in D.C. There are also lots of 1L students here, so there's a good opportunity to make friends with close-by neighbors.
I don't think the price is worth it for this apartment building. The building is old, the heating/AC units are full of dust, and the cockroach problem is NOT solved. My apartment, as well as others, have had problems with all kinds of bugs (INCLUDING COCKROACHES). The price for parking is insane ($225/month). The neighborhood has basically nothing besides the school and a Whole Foods. OK for COVID, would probably be less fun when we are able to go out again. The building controls when it switches from A/C to heat = a couple of weeks where we had super hot days but they had already switched to heat so we had to deal with that. Overall, you could definitely find a better bang for your buck if you're willing to walk a little farther. We do not plan on staying here next year.

Good apartment for the price
Decent apartments very close to campus. Not modern but still nice. Nice views if you’re on a higher floor. Management is usually very responsive if you have an issue. All utilities and gym included.

Great Location to Campus, if we were actually going
Our apartment is giant and management has always been helpful. No massive problems. Part of the reason I chose to live here was the proximity to campus, and if I had been able to plan for the pandemic, I probably would have chosen somewhere cheaper and further away. I really have liked this apartment but I think I would have liked it even more if it were cheaper.

Good location for school, otherwise average
The building itself is noticeably aged, but it otherwise has the things you need to live. Appliances have been updated as well. We live in a one bedroom, but the living room was large enough to create a second bedroom, so you can have a roommate to split costs and space with. The gym is small but accommodating enough for a good workout. There is parking at the complex (not cheap but reasonable) which is nice if you ever have friends come visit with a car. Walking distance to campus, but most nightlife is much further away. Of course, there is always public transportation. After two years, I do wish I lived on a less quiet block. Maintenance is attentive if anything goes wrong, but management could be better.

Good but dust
I like that the building is generally quiet but the person above me is unreasonably loud at night and I've told mgmt and they've done nothing. Also a lot of dust comes out of the vents, so I won't be living here next year, but I probably would if it weren't for the dust.

Columbia Plaza
This is a really great apartment complex set in a great location. It has a convenience store, coffee shop, Chinese restaurant, and nail salon in the plaza below which is very handy. The maintenance staff is incredibly friendly and very prompt with addressing any repairs. A great size for a studio and many different layouts to choose from based on your interests and budget.

Great for law students
well-managed, 10 minute walk from the law school, spacious & very quiet. Only drawbacks are the prices & the lack of social activities in the neighborhood.
