1500 Chicago Ave reviews and highlights
- Very good value for the money
- No fancy amenities
- Very comfortable and clean
- Good location and most tenants are Kellogg students
- Apartments facing Chicago Ave. have street noise
- Laundry room is reasonable
- Large rooms and lots of closet space
- Walls are thin and the building is old and a bit outdated
- Love the natural light through the huge windows
- Management is very responsive
- Located in downtown Evanston and close to grocery stores and restaurants
- Spacious living room
- Most units have central heating and the apartments remain fairly warm during the Winter
- Rooftop is great for summer parties
- Building staff is very attentive
Good building, helpful maintenance crew
Overall a good experience. The building is old, which didn't bother me at all (my appliances were all very new). The maintenance people were great, quickly responding to anything we needed.

Good price, quality building
For what it offers and costs I think 1500 Chicago is the best option for a 2 bedroom

Good Value for Money
Location:
The walk to the Jacobs Center takes about 12-15 minutes. There is the option of taking the NU Intercampus Shuttle which has a stop a block away. Do note that there is ongoing construction of a hotel across the building. This results to noise and dust.
Value:
Very good value for money overall. The rooms are big and the living experience is very comfortable.
Social:
60-80% of the residents are Kellogg students. For International students who are thinking about staying at McManus, 1500 Chicago is one of the top alternatives.
Amenities:
Laundry room is reasonable. No gym/pool in the building.

Comfortable Apartment
1500 Chicago Ave is a location with a lot of Kellogg students, and is fairly comfortable. Most units have central heating, and the apartment remains fairly warm during Winter with little to no need of purchasing additional space heaters. The management is very responsive, and there is an on-site building manager that will assist with any issues you have. There is on-site laundry (6 washers and 6 dryers) that cost 75cents per cycle, as well as a dry-cleaner on site. The building is about 10-15 minutes walk to Jacobs, and about 3-5 minutes walk to the nearest bar/food places.

Great Place
Rooftop w/Gas BBQ during spring/summer/autumn.
Northwestern southbound bus stops at the door and northbound stops one block away.
A lot of Kellogg students live in the building (which is particularly good during winter).
It's walking distance from downtown Evanston and from Trains/bus stops.
Management solves issues really quick.
Good value for money.

Great Value
About a 12-15 minute walk to campus, spacious for a 1 bedroom, and not too expensive relative to other options.
Fairly old building, but bigger than expected for a 1 bedroom. Management is pretty responsive, so I'd recommend if you're looking for somewhere walkable that's not too expensive.
