1500 Chicago Ave reviews and highlights
- Very good value for the money
- No fancy amenities
- Very comfortable and clean
- Good location and most tenants are Kellogg students
- Apartments facing Chicago Ave. have street noise
- Laundry room is reasonable
- Large rooms and lots of closet space
- Walls are thin and the building is old and a bit outdated
- Love the natural light through the huge windows
- Management is very responsive
- Located in downtown Evanston and close to grocery stores and restaurants
- Spacious living room
- Most units have central heating and the apartments remain fairly warm during the Winter
- Rooftop is great for summer parties
- Building staff is very attentive
Spacious place to live
I quite enjoy living at 1500 Chicago - my only complaint is the water pressure in the shower can be a little weak.
Spacious rooms with large closets make living here quite enjoyable. A good value for people who are looking to live downtown without spending an arm and a leg. Small gym and large sunroof round out the amenities.
Very responsive management - I've had all my issues taken care of within a day.

Really spacious for an amazing price. Walking distance to Whole Foods and downtown Evanston.

Spacious, worth for money but less fancy
The room is more spacious than other apartment in Evanston
The rent is among the cheapest
I love my room. It’s cozy!
However, the building is old and there is less fancy elements than other apartments

Best value for money
Upside - Rent is one of the most competitive, location is great (close to Northwestern, supermarket, lakefront), area/space is big (room, living room), gym is small but very decent, there is staff onsite everyday most of the time who make sure things are in conditions and everything clean
Downside is the building is quite old, the bathroom and kitchen are OK but there is no stove exhaust, for example

1500 Chicago Avenue Review
Great apartment for living alone!

Older building - spectacularly maintained
I love living at 1500 Chicago because you get a great amount of space and cleanliness for your money. The apartments are not new (many are carpeted), but are very well maintained. I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained the bathroom is, and that the kitchen has up to date appliances. In addition, I constantly see the staff of the building repairing, maintaining, cleaning both individual apartments and the building as a whole.
1500 is just a 20 minute walk to campus, similar to other apartment buildings. While it's not near the west of campus where many Kellogg students live, it is very close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes!

Older Building, Good Value
The building is a bit older than E2, the Optimas, and other popular options, but the apartments are larger and it's definitely a better value. Easy walking distance from Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joes, the Hub, the CTA, and other apartment buildings. There's a gym in the building although it's nothing amazing.

Large apartments, responsive management, great location
I love living at 1500 Chicago - big space, lots of natural light, one of the closest buildings to the Hub in downtown Evanston. Great price for a single place, definitely larger than most one bedrooms I saw elsewhere for ~$500 less per month. Older building, but gym and laundry room are clean and well-lit. Does not have as many Kellogg students as some of the newer buildings, so less socializing in-building.

Good quality for the price
Pretty cheap if you compare to other buildings in Evanston. The apartment is nice (loads of natural light pouring in!) and very very spacious. Never cold in the winter and well air-conditioned in the summer. Only bummer is that no pets are allowed. There are a lot of Kellogg people in the building.
