You get what you pay for

The Letterman House is really nice because it's so close to campus. It's also honestly on the same level as the Statesman, except it's cheaper because you don't have a 24/7 doorman, which I personally don't really need. The only downside is that the management of the apartment can sometimes be very unresponsive. We had a lot of issues with the laundry machines and it took almost a month and a half for them to resolve it (yay free laundry?). But overall, I'd definitely say it's worth every penny, especially considering how close it is to campus. Problems in the apartment will vary depending on the individual owner of the unit.

Conveniently located for GWU

It's clean and pretty well managed apartment. It is conveniently located for George Washington University students. It is very safe and it is not too loud considering a lot of students are living in the building. Also, it is pretty close to national mall!

The Letterman House

As a student of GWU, The Letterman house is a great location from school and near by essentials like Whole Foods and CVS, There are a good range of fast food options. The building management is extremely helpful and outgoing, I have had only great experiences with them. The unit is large and spacious. Lighting is a bit of an issue, but we've made do. Overall very happy.

Safe, Clean Building

Great building with in-building washer/dryers that accept credit/debit cards.
The building is in a very safe neighborhood with very friendly building staff. The common spaces are well taken care of by a very attentive maintenance man. The manager, Stanley, is very kind and attentive. The only downside is that you can only pick up packages between 9 AM to 6 PM on weekdays, and between 10-2 on weekends, as those are the only times the manager is in. Also, you do hear some noise Friday/Saturday nights as there are frat houses close by, so this should be something to think about prior to moving in.

Great experience

Management has been great! Overall its pretty quiet. There are many young kids because of its proximity to GW. Generally I have been very pleased.

Amazing Location For a Steal

The Letterman is a great place to live for the law students. It takes me less than five minutes to get to class and it's overall a very quiet apartment building. The residents here are mainly students, government workers, or senior citizens so it is not rowdy. The apartments themselves are all individually owned so I can't say much for the conditions of each apartment. The manager here, Stan, is a great person who is willing to help with anything. The only down side to this apartment is that the manager is not here 24/7, so if you're locked out, it's a huge ordeal to get it resolved. Also, if you live on the side facing F street, it can get kind of loud on the weekends because of the undergrads. Other than that, it's been a great experience.

Letterman house

Great, safe apartment. Students, couples, and older couples live in the building. Stanley the doorman is awesome. Only con is that it is basically on the GW campus, and that it can be hard to get packages sometimes. Would also love a gym in the building.

Fine for students, might want to move on afterwards

I have liked living here, but I think it is due in large part to having a roommate I like and enjoying the "student" feel of this place. It is one of the older complexes, so nothing like the amenities of the Avenues. Clean enough, but the elevator is down a lot which leaves you with just the one on some busy days. I end up taking ten flights of stairs sometimes. Nothing fancy here, but a good price and good location overall.

Lots of pretty row homes, walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, and my school. Lots of trees and a dog park near-by. Overall, very pretty and scenic to walk through, and also close to other neighborhoods and essential stores.
I like living in Foggy, it's easy to get to school but also is close to Georgetown, which is fun for food and shopping. The northern part of Foggy (near GW) is about 10 minute walk to Dupont too, which is great.
Short walk to Georgetown, West End, and Dupont Circle. Many restaurants nearby and close to metro so you can get to anywhere in the city conveniently.
Nice to be so close to school. Short walk from the mall and other tourist destinations. Bar/restaurant/night life scene leaves a lot to be desired.
It is really close to campus so a lot of GW folks live here! You can reach a lot of places on public transit.
I personally enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood and its location within a close walking distance of campus, Georgetown, the water, and convenience/grocery stores. The neighborhood is also very safe, I am a woman in my early 20's and I have never felt unsafe walking home late at night near my apartment.
Foggy Bottom is a great place to live given the proximity to the law school. It's also within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle which are fun places to go out with friends and classmates. It's also has lots of bike racks for the Capital Bikeshare nearby, and the Foggy Bottom metro stop is a few blocks up the street.
A lot of college kids around but still not to noisy. Some food places a 5 to 8 minute walk away. Also a block away from Tonic, which is a great, cheap happy hour place for drinks, burgers, and tater tots. It seems pretty safe. Love the short walk to GW though (4 or 5 minutes).
