Fantastic building that needs better maintenance

Good apartment building but lots of small issues around the property all the time. There is always something broken, whether in a common space or in your apartment, which takes a while to get fixed because they don't have enough maintenance staff. You can't beat the location and overall amenities though, just a few blocks to Chinatown, Union Station and the Mall. Right off of 395. Rooftop pool and rooftop deck with grills and fire pit. Definitely pricey but for the right (ish) reasons.

Excellent place to live!

Mass Court apartments are conveniently located right next to the Judiciary Square Metro. Management and maintenance have been pretty easy to work with, the units are fairly spacious. The gym could be a little bit better, but it gets the job done. The year round rooftop pool is a nice touch!

Love the Place - Not so much the management

I've been living in the building for over 5 years. Love the location, the amenities, but management is not that nice since it changed. Perfect salesmen: smile during application, not that much once you live there.
Front desk personnel most of the time very friendly.

Great Place to live

Mass Court building is a great place to live in.
Very well located and well connected to public transportation.
Amenities are great: pool, hot tub, bbq, nice rooftop, business center, gym, etc. There is a concierge 24h. Building is clean and well maintained. Maintenance services are very responsive. Carpet floor, but I understand they are transforming into wooden floors.

Amazing Value

Decent location (close to metro and walkable to fun eateries and bars), usually responsive maintenance, wide variety of great amenities, great neighbors - only downside is probably the lack of routine maintenance (gym equipment often not working, grills and heaters breaking, etc) but the building has a wonderful view and a wonderful crowd. For the price, can't be beat

Spacious apartments

The apartments are spacious enough to convert them into an extra bedroom. With that change, the apartments are much more affordable. The location is great. There are many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, and it is a very safe neighborhood.

Great place for young professionals

This apartment building is right next to the red line and the green/yellow line. It has a heated pool year round and a nice gym. Right below you have a bar and a pizza place...what more could you want? Construction nearby can be loud especially if you get an apartment facing the street (only downfall).

Great Apartment Complex

This is a great apartment building with awesome amenities. It has a year-round heated pool and jacuzzi. Sometimes the up-keep of the amenities takes a little bit (e.g. the grills were out for several weeks), but overall everyone is very nice.

Penn Quarter Reviews

13 reviews
There are always places to eat and things to do. Also the apartment is only about 1 mi from the Mall so it's great if you are a runner. In terms of getting to work it typically takes me 50min-1 hour on the metro one way and the metro stop is a couple of blocks from the building. I typically drive to work which (by commuting slightly before peak morning traffic and slightly after peak evening traffic) is around 35-40 min one way. The building is right off of 395, which means you don't have to do too much city driving ever.
Penn quarter is close to most places. Out of three roommates, two of us work in NoMa and one works near Farragut. All three of us walk when it is nice weather. The area doesn't have a lot of really cool, cultural bars but for every day places they are totally fine. There are lots of nearby groceries - safeway and walmart are walking distance from me. Its a safe area that can be a little pricey for rent.
I enjoy the fact that there are numerous places to eat and happy hour at in the neighborhood. My only complaint is that it doesnt necessarily have a "club" or "lounge spot".
Penn Quarter is a great neighborhood because you are really at the center of the city. It is walking distance to the Capitol, White House, and monuments. You are in the heart of the museum district with access to several of DC's famous museums. The restaurants and bars are great and have a ton of variety.
Chinatown. Good food and located close to the Verizon Center.
Very safe and lots of restaurants and bars. It is great for dinner and happy hour. Very close to the mall and all the monuments. Great for running and outdoor activities. Life night and day.
Great, lots of restaurants
Chinatown is great because there is always something to do and lots of good bars and food nearby (and it's just a short walk to the Safeway). The area feels safe because there are always people around. That said, all the excitement means it can be loud and Verizon Center events can clog up public transportation. Biggest downside is the distance from campus.
