Average to Above Average living

The staff is great, fix things quickly. However, it's an apartment complex owned by a large corporation so the prices are pretty fixed and you cant work with them on anything. Internet, gas, and electricity are on your own to figure out and can range from a total of $100 dollars to $300 depending on how you live. Pool on the ground floor, grills, OK gym, and parking garage underground you can pay for. Rooms are wood in the living room, tile in the kitchen and bathrooms, and carpet in the rooms. Enough room for a decent-sized desk, queen bed, and dresser with space. Overall, the apartments are good sized for what you pay for and you are a 30sec walk to the metro. Clarendon is a great area as well, with lots of food options and clubs if that's what you're into.

Great, comfortable living

The staff at The Clarendon are super nice and helpful. The apartments are a good size, with all necessary appliances, and the pool and gym amenities are great. Service requests are taken care of efficiently and professionally.

Residents are all super friendly, and lots of dogs in the building to say hi to!

Great location and solid value

The Clarendon is located a block away from the Clarendon metro station (silver line) which is a great spot for getting to work and is convenient to bars, restaurants, and shops.

Floorplans: the units are spacious, and while the rent isn't cheap, for the location and size of the apartment, it's a good deal. There's a lot of storage in my unit.

Amenities: the gym and pool are both small, but they're nice enough. There's a party room that residents can rent pretty cheaply. Parking in the underground garage is $125 per month.

Pets: There's a sizeable non-refundable pet fee plus monthly pet rent of $65. Located across the street from James Hunter Dog Park, so it's well-located if you have pets, but expensive.

Management: Management has generally been friendly and responsive.

Security: There's a 24/7 concierge, but they're not very strict about building access. It's convenient if you like to entertain, but it's definitely not 100% secure.

Good Apartment Building in a Great Location

Apartment is nice, management is responsive, maintenance is fast. The 24-hour concierge is a fantastic amenity and is staffed by great people.

Building is 1 block from Metro and within a 7 minute walk of 3 grocery stores (Trader Joe's, Giant, Whole Foods)

Comcast is your only Internet/Cable provider option and has averaged 1 outage lasting 4+ hours every 3 months. Management is dragging their feet on bringing more companies into the building.

Excellent location by metro in Clarendon

I renewed my lease to live here a second year and love my apartment. It's a little on the expensive side but our apartment (2 bed, 2 bath) is very spacious, I have a walk-in closet, my roommate has a big soaker tub, and we have granite countertops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. The apartment has a free pool (only open Memorial to Labor Day) and gym included as well as a club room with a pool table and kitchen free for use, but you can also rent out the space for an event. The Clarendon is right beside the Clarendon metro and right by all the bars, restaurants, and shops in Clarendon. The location can't be beat for Arlington. They are pet friendly and have parking available in an underground garage, but both come at an extra cost. Management and maintenance are pretty responsive and they host social events pretty much every month. There is a front desk concierge 24/7 and they hold/check-out packages for you. There are apartments, lofts, and townhomes mixed in this apartment. Biggest downside is that we don't have a balcony and only have windows on one side of our apartment.

Good first apartment

Pretty standard/cookie cutter layout, fairly new, building amenities were solid (gym, pool on ground floor, grills, community center, etc.). Very similar to the other big apartment buildings in the area. Make sure you send your notice to vacate if you aren't renewing your lease, we got kind of screwed by that

Love it here

I love living at The Clarendon for many reasons. First, the location is unbeatable. I'm 25 minutes (driving)/35 minutes (metro) from work (McLean/Tysons), 10 minutes to Reagan Airport-DCA, 15 minutes to D.C. People told me I would miss out socially if I lived in Arlington, but I placed proximity to work over living in the city, and I'm so glad I did. Clarendon is the most similar to D.C. as an Arlington neighbor can get, and I live within a 2 minute walk from 5 bars, a Trader Joes and Whole Foods, as well as many amazing restaurants. Only downside to Clarendon is the rent is higher than in other parts of Arlington. I pay about the same as someone living in D.C., but I get more for my money (more amenities, square footage, modern style vs. older building).

Convenient, Clean, Friendly Staff

The Clarendon offers an unbeatable location. Right on the metro, easy walking distance to 3 grocery stores and innumerable restaurants. The staff is friendly. However, it is very expensive and the rent increases are absurd at 10-15% per year. Living here long-term is unsustainable because nobody's income rises that fast. Also, the apartments look high end, but the build quality is cheap. For example, all the interior doors are thin hollow-core so sound flows through a closed door like it's still open.

Average neighborhood, food scene is unexceptional. If the law school wasn't right here I wouldn't be living here. Tons of crowds and people not taking masks / social distancing / pandemic in general serious and going to bars and clubs.
I love being so close to the metro, Ballston, school, and Clarendon. The neighborhood is safe and very easy to get to anything you could need.
Virginia Square is nice because it's right between Ballston and Clarendon, so it's easy to get to both places.
Quiet, but easy walking to Ballston and Clarendon, and easy metro to DC
LOVE LOVE LOVE my neighborhood. I'm between dupont and u street, so it's not in the middle of it all, which I appreciate. I'm literally 2 blocks from 14th street where all the great restaurants/bars are. I'm also 5-7 mins walking distance to multiple grocery stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Safeway). It's quiet enough to feel like I'm not in a city, but i'm steps away from being reminded that I am.
Courthouse (located right between Rosslyn and Clarendon), is a very convenient area, with lots of shopping, grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants. The metro station is in the center of the neighborhood and leads right to downtown DC, and the area feels very safe, including at night.
This is a very good neighborhood with an easy commute to McLean. It's a very walkable area with Trader Joes and Whole Foods nearby and many other shops, restaurants and bars. There is also a dog park as well as a park (Rocky Run) that has basketball courts and a turf field.
A nice place with plenty of night life, restaurants, and things to do. Pretty safe and upscale. A little cheaper than living in Foggy Bottom but were it not for my wife's work, I might opt to be closer to GW. The commute isnt bad though, 15 or 20 mins by metro.
