Location x Quality

I absolutely love the location and proximity to the metro station and 395. Also, New York Avenue and Florida Avenue are major streets in the city and will get you just about anywhere! It is wonderful to have the Harris Teeter across the street! My only gripe would be the lack of restaurants available and open after business hours. However, H Street is not too faraway to cover that either.

Elevation at Washington Gateway

Although rent is on the expensive side, I enjoy living here. The building is brand new, with state of the art appliances and amenities. Most people that live here are in there 20's which makes it nice for social gatherings, and meeting people. The staff keeps the building clean, and you can tell that the management company genuinely cares about the residents.

Great building + amenities!

Elevation is a great building, with a lot of amenities that make it a great place to live: 24/7 concierge, gym, rooftop, pool, and parking ($175/month). Overall the space in the 1BR apartments is great, and the bathrooms have an entrance from the main living space as well as the bedroom so you can have more privacy when guests visit. The bedroom is large, and has two closets, one of which is a walk in. Proximity to the metro can't be beat, but crossing the street to get there can be treacherous at times - I swear the lights aren't always working correctly. The location is definitely up and coming, but in a year or two there will be plenty built up close by. For now, it's convenient to get anywhere in the city in a short amount of time and a cheap cab ride! The building is pet friendly, which in and of itself is fine, but I've stepped in pet urine, and throw up enough times to feel like the neighbors could be a bit more considerate. Residents are typically letting their dogs outside in the decorative bushes vs using the dog park right up the hill, and people quite frequently smoke outside the building so you have to walk through it to get to and from the front entrance.

Great

It's been really good living here, it's a nice area, up and coming, and the gym is really nice! The area initially didn't appeal to me, but with transit so close, there isn't a downfall, the people who live in this building are really nice too, and everyone makes you feel like you truly belong here, and not as though you're just a student. ITS GREAT!

Great area

This is a great apartment, it's in a wonderful area, and it's very close to Transit. Not only that, but all the tenants that I've come into contact with are amazing as well. It's a great area, and I feel safe living here. Also the gym amenities are wonderful as well!

Good but overpriced

They tend to cater to bougie upper class people. Rules on the amenities are a little strict, but overall it is a great building if you can get a good leasing deal. They lock down the roof at midnight which is ridiculous, the gym has good equipment but is cramped, but the other amenities are very good and they have plenty of social events for the residents.

Great spot

Love the NoMa neighborhood and this building is fantastic. The management company is highly responsive to needs and very communicative about what's going on. It's a pet friendly building, and has a dog park on the property, so if you have a dog or cat, this is also a nice place. Other amenities include a gym, two party rooms, and parking.

Beautiful building, but a little large for my taste

This building is wonderful in terms of amenities--however so many units often feel overcrowded at them like the pool. Also with so many people and only one concierge, sometimes there can be await.

The unit itself is quite lovely and gets tons of natural light. Kitchen is nice with washer dryer in unit.

NoMa Reviews

I don't venture too far outside of the few blocks of NoMa because outside of the neighborhood isn't as safe. However, the city has done a lot to revamp the area in the past few years, so there are new restaurants and bars opening up. I also live right across the street from the metro, which makes the rest of the city much more accessible.
NoMa is up and coming - there are not too many places to eat/socialize in the evenings but the neighborhood is close enough to H Street that you don't feel too stranded.
NoMa is still transforming from an industrial area to a dense, walkable urban neighborhood of apartments, offices and retail. The main amenities I look forward to having in the future are more bars and local (not chain) restaurants in NoMa, and more park space. I wish the NoMa Parks Foundation success in holding on to enough land to build high-quality parks.
NoMa lacks character but makes up for it in amenities and, I guess, effort to be community oriented. The BID is quite active, sponsoring lots of events and fighting for park space. Crime is average for a transitioning neighborhood. Harris Teeter is the best grocery store! Proximity to the red line and Capital Bikeshare means transit is relatively supported.
There’s a few local bars and beer gardens which is nice, a few grocery stores, a Starbucks, multiple restaurants, metros stop, and great clips all in walking distance. But there have been multiple incidents of people getting into the building who don’t live here, a homeless man overdosing in front of someone’s apartment, and management put the onus on the residents to fix the situation
NOMA / Eckington is a very vibrant neighborhood, with lots of restaurants and very good transportation access. Close to Union Market for lots of good food experiences.
The neighborhood is becaming better in the close two blocks arround. even though is lacking nice kids playgrounds and daily leaving needed stores
Close to grocery store, and metro. No bars or sit down restaurants to walk to. High prices for not too much to do around you. We still pay over $1000 to live, yet can't walk to grab a drink and dinner, especially late at night, it is not safe. At all times of the day, we can't walk into our building without a homeless person outside of it on a bench.
