Not Bad for a Short Period of Time
I currently live at 525 West Deming. It was great my first year but after that I started having problems at the building. My motorcycle was crashed into, my bicycle was destroyed in their storage, and my shower broke. The management is not very helpful at all.

Love living in Lincoln Park - so many good restaurants and parks around, and it's more removed from the busy downtown area. It's nice to have a little bit of distance from campus. There are multiple bus routes to the hospital (151, 22, 36) that are reliable and usually run every 15-30mins. I thought the commute might be bad, but it's the same amount of time that it previously took me to walk from my Gold Coast apartment to school, and I'm much happier living in LP. Only downside is that while it's cheaper than Streeterville/Gold Coast, it's still a pretty expensive area to live. Having roommates helps a lot and cheaper options do exist, but they're generally further from campus.
Very nice neighborhood feel, peaceful, close to bars and restaurants in Lincoln park and old town. 20 min commute to feinberg via bus
Love how safe it is and how much there is to do. However, it can be a hassle to get to school if you don't have a car just because you need to change trains. Average age of the neighborhood ranges from college age (DePaul is close) to early 50s - with most people being in late 20s/early 30s.
Great neighborhood for going to school downtown. You will find some gems in LP as much as you will find very expensive apartments.
I love Lincoln Park. Lincoln Ave and Halsted are chock full of bar after bar to fill up your Friday night. My favorites are Halligan's and Alive One. Also, the famous KINGSTON MINES is literally right around the corner!
All the conveniences you need are all right there too and there are multiple parks within walking distance.

Several restaurants and bars within walking distance in Lincoln Park. Whole Foods right on the corner of Sheffield. Oz Park is within a few blocks. You are also half a block from Fullerton L stop, just far enough to not be able to hear it and close enough to minimize the time you're outside on those super cold days :)
Love this neighborhood! Definitely the best part of this apartment. Rent is a great price in comparison to the rest of the area. Walking distance to the zoo, parks, the beach, bars, shopping. Not really close to trains, but it's not a problem because there are many convenient bus lines and Uber/Lyft is generally a good price from most places in the city.
Living in East Lincoln Park (Fullerton and Clark) is probably one of the most lively areas in all of Chicago. Every direction offers something new only steps away. Close to many bars, shops and restaurants along Clark St between Fullerton and Diversey. To the east is the beautiful Lincoln Park, Alfred Caldwell Lilly Pond, Lincoln Park Zoo and lake Michigan Beaches. Groceries stores are plentiful (Big Apple, Trader Joes, Walmart Express) as well as convenience stores such as Walgreen's or local bodegas. Most daily tasks can be accomplished by walking, which is nice because parking is limited and hard to come by.
