Happy with this place

- I have heard horrible things about PMC when I was doing my research. They have been nothing but amazing. Whenever I have a problem, I log it on the system, and someone comes to fix it. It's a very good management company (at least in 1900 Arch).

- Apartment is new. The best thing about is its windows - lots of sunshine! Because Arch is a commercial street, it is quiet at night which is nice. My only criticism of it is the size of 1BR. But that is very common here.

- Amenities are amazing. I'm talking about the gym, common areas, and rooftop.

- Location is great: 9 mins from Giant, 14 mins from Wholefoods, 1 min from Trolley. I would be suffering trying to get groceries or go to school if I lived anywhere else.

Affordable yet modern

I chose 1900 Arch because it's a little cheaper than Rittenhouse Sq. apartments but not too much farther (4 blocks from Chestnut, on Arch), with more than comparable amenities (updated appliances, hardwood, lots of sunlight, gym, outdoor and rooftop spaces). It's walkable to the Trader Joe's, Fine Wine & Spirits, Old Nelson (deli and mini-grocery), and trolley stop on 19th and Market to get to Penn's campus.

Basically, it's perfect if you're living alone, but like living in 2116 with cheaper rent.

Affordable amenities building

Solid building. Expansive gym, decent rooftop, front desk security and 3 elevators. Apartments are good bang for your buck space wise. Could use a little love updating / cleaning / improving the units

You Don't get What You Pay For

Surface level it looks nice, but for the price they charge I feel you should get more. There's a roach problem in the building. There are a lot of pet owners, so you are greeted with the pungent smell of urine every single day. All in all, would not recommend to a friend. Plus there's a lot of construction and the nieghborhood gets deserted at night, so I feel unsafe walking my dog after dark. There are a lot of homeless people and drug addicts. When you pay for a luxury building, you usually get a safe neighborhood to go with it. Not really the case here.

Decent building offers good value.

Building is decent overall. Certainly has its quirks and the management company could be better. The reviews online calling this place horrible are exaggerating (and we are very particular).

Biggest issues are: some (but tolerable) noise from Comcast building construction next door, arcane process for package intake (manually tracked by security staff), and horrible lease terms.

Overall though, area is nice, apartment is larger than if you were in Rittenhouse square, but still close enough for social activities / food, appliances are new, and lots of natural sunlight.

1st year Wharton

Generally okay. A bit from Wharton bubble, but within walking distance . But noise from construction activities (Comcast building) is quite disturbing, and sunlight during winter is quite limited

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
