Wonderful
I love living in Lakeview. Our apartment is beautifully kept up. The neighborhood is a lovely collaboration of quiet and social. The location is great for going out and for mass transit. Triview is amazing about responding to any issues or concerns.

No major complaints
The building and common areas are well maintained. Rats can often be found in the alleyways, but I suppose that's to be expected for Chicago. Rent is a little higher than I'd hope for the space, but you're paying for the location. Unit itself could benefit from more natural light. Hardwood floors and exposed brick in units is a nice touch.

Lakeview Reviews
It has numerous sub-neighborhoods, including the super bro-y Wrigleyville and the still queer Boystown. It has a mix of lower income co-op housing and slowly dying out SRO housing with luxury condos and high rises.
The area is generally safe, though the occasional mugging does occur and bar fights happen closer to the stadium on the regular.
The neighborhood is often loud and bustling with people, with hospitals on both ends (St. Jo's and Advocate to the south and Thorek to the north) so a lot of ambient ambulance and fire truck noise is normal, plus sounds from people going to and from the many bars and restaurants lining Broadway, Belmont, Halsted, and Clark. Festivals draw neighbors into the streets and block traffic frequently during the summer, including Pride, Market Days, Lakeview Arts Fest, and others.
