Cheapest option, good staff, bare minimum amenities.

Only lived here for a few months. Great staff, I feel safe. There is a weird humid smell in the hallways, elevator has a worse smell. In-building laundry. Definitely an older building but they are renovating some apartments (means it will be more expensive soon probably).

Close to campus

Super close to campus. Staff responds to residents quickly and professionally. A small gym and a rooftop in the building. Large laundry room in the basement. No complaints! I have loved living here.

Great location

You can't beat the location (2 blocks from the hospital and across the street from Trader Joe's). Sure living in a converted living room has it's draw backs, but I spend so little time at home not sleeping that I think it's been the right choice for me.

Great location and management, but pricey

Great location. Quite complex, mostly students. Pretty pricey for the space but its walking distance to georgetown, dupont and adams morgan. The maintenance worker is really good at getting things fixed in a timely manner. As soon as the request is put in he will fix it the same day.

I love this place!

I am so lucky to have this apartment. It was just renovated, the staff is super friendly and helpful, I like the scan to enter front door, and any problems I've had have been taken care of very quickly. The "gym" is one of the sadder excuses of a gym I've ever seen and the laundry room is kind of creepy in the basement, but neither of those things are that important to me. The location is across from trader joes which is absolutely amazing. I have no complaints about my actual apartment other than that my oven is kind of cheap and doesn't have any timers or buttons or anything (but hey, I'm not a chef, what do I care).

Spacious but Need to Replace Management

Everything about the unit itself is great. The studio room is large, and the price is fair for the location. Management however needs to learn people skills and to not be rude. The head of maintenance is super friendly and great to work with. Pets allowed if 40 pounds of under with pet fee (or something like that, double check).

Great location, but lacks the comfort you'd expect for the price

The location of 2424 Penn is great. It is within walking distance of the school, the metro, places to eat, and places to hang out. The apartment is clean but it is expensive for a studio and the cable they provide is awful. The internet can only be purchased from them if you live on the first few floors, otherwise you have to buy your own which I did. There is 24/7 security which is nice but management can be rude and unresponsive to problems.

Wonderful!

Its been a wonderful place to live. Amazing management. they are very friendly people and approachable.

The area is very good and easily accessible to the metro. I would definitely recommend this apartment for its view, elegance and the moment you step in, you feel that you are at home.

Solid apartment, but management is difficult to deal with

Nice building, great location, but the management office was terrible to work with, pretty incapable of dealing with basic problems. You really have to want something to get done if you need anything from them. Otherwise, great place.

Perfect for students

Excellent location, plenty of space, management is responsive. My only gripe is that the kitchen is quite small and cabinet space is limited.

West End Reviews

I like having Trader Joe’s around the corner from me. Great access to Georgetown. I also like that I am close to both Foggy Bottom and DuPont circle metro stations. I wished there was more food dining options on the neighborhood. Most food places are at least 10-20 minute walk.
Close walk to campus but outside of the general campus area. Close to Georgetown for nice change of scenery
Foggy Bottom is safe, clean, quiet and conveniently located. Renters should be aware that this is a very undergraduate heavy lots of college students around. Also a pretty quiet neighborhood, not a high concentration of walkable bars, restaurants etc. but can easily access the rest of the city via Metro or bike.
West End is somewhat squished between Foggy Bottom and DuPont. There are a lot of newer apartment buildings, and a number of cafes in the area. There's a Trader Joe's, a small hardware store, a few dry cleaners and a couple of gyms in the area. There aren't very many restaurants in West End proper, but both DuPont and Foggy Bottom are an easy walk. Georgetown is also a fairly easy walk. It is close to GW's campus. The Foggy Bottom metro is 5-10 minutes away, and the DuPont metro is maybe a 15-20 minute walk. It's a pretty safe neighborhood and relatively quiet at night.
Foggy Bottom is an excellent place to live for a young professional. Easy access to public transportation to get to work. There are also a lot of bars that are perfect for the night life of a young professional.
Wack and too expensive. Only benefit is its close to school and Georgetown.
Very safe, poor bar scene but not terrible far from DuPont.
Hard to beat the Foggy Bottom area. Safe and close to everything you would need to be productive and have a great med school experience.
